It is proposed that the Meadowlark Neighborhood Drainage Improvement Project be completed in 3 phases: <br /> 1. Preliminary Drainage Review: This phase will review the area drainage that affects the neighborhood. The main product <br /> for tlus phase will be the preparation of a Project Design Report that will identify the specific drainage concems,prioritize <br /> them,recommend solutions,and esrimate probable costs. TMs phase should be completed in August,2016. <br /> 2. Final Design: Using the Project Design Report, City staff and the Engineer will be able to clearly outline the scope of <br /> services for the design phase by identifying which areas of concern to address in the final project(s)and the timeline for the <br /> work to be completed. The final product for this phase of the work will be designs and specifications that will allow the <br /> City to bid a drainage irnprovement project(s)that will meet the funding ability of the City. This phase should be completed <br /> early in 2017. <br /> 3. Construcrion Phase(s): Tlus phase will consist of construction the identified improvements. Depending on the area needs <br /> and projected costs, this pbase could be broken into multiple projects to better schedule the work and meet the funding <br /> ability of the City. Construction is planned for 2017. <br /> Engineering Services Agreement <br /> The scope of services for the fust phase of the Meadowlark Neighborhood Storm Drainage Improvement Project includes: <br /> 1. Hold initial meetings with the Meadowlark Neighborhood and other stake holders, including area businesses, to review <br /> and document storm drainage concerns affecting the neighborhood. <br /> 2. Conduct a general review of the area and identify major drainage elements including storm sewers, bridges, detention <br /> ponds,streams,etc. <br /> 3. Perform an in depth review of the impact of storm water on the neighborhood which will include modeling projected <br /> storm water flows in and around the neighborhood area. <br /> 4. Deternune priorities and recommendations. <br /> 5. Hold a meeting with the neighborhood to review the proposed recommendarions and priorities. Adjushnents will be made <br /> in response to neighbarhood input. <br /> 6. Complete the final Project Design Report to give direcrion to the final design phase of the project. <br /> SCHEDULE: DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION: <br /> The preliminary design is scheduled to begin irmnediately and be completed and submitted for review by August 2016. The final <br /> design engineering phase is planned to be brought to Council late summer 2016 with design completion in early 2017. The <br /> proposed schedule will allow for the project to be bid and awarded in the spring of 2017.
