Ms. Miller stated that the parking area must be <br /> paved and cannot be rock. It was noted that the properties on each side of the subject property , <br /> nd Ms. Miller stated it is unknown how lon the have been m existence but � <br /> have rock areas a g y <br /> most likel rior to the ado tion of the ordinance. I <br /> YP P <br /> Ms. Deborah Warnick, owner of Heritage Homes,was present and spoke for the petition stating I <br /> that the subject property is located between an apartment building and a twenty four(24) care I <br /> facility. Across the street is French School, there are two bed and breakfasts and an investment <br /> firm. Ms. Warnick stated that the parking will be paved and a ramp constructed, other than that <br /> the property will look the same. I <br /> Mr. Anderson asked if the house is in use as an office. Ms.Warnick answered yes and stated that , <br /> she purchased the house to be redone and sold as an investment. Then a decision was made to <br /> use the house as an office. <br /> Mr. John asked about using the structure as both a home and office and the fire code issues. Ms. <br />, Wamick stated that changes would have to be made mside the structure which has gorgeous <br /> woodwork that would have to be removed to meet the fire code. There is also a four foot wide <br /> walnut door that would have to be replaced. Ms. Miller stated that the fire code requires a fire <br /> separation between uses and the code allows no variances. The structure can be used now as <br /> either a home or an office but with both uses safety measures would have to be provided to any <br /> residents. <br /> Ms. Warnick stated that she just wanted an office at this location. <br /> Mrs. Sands stated that this was an improvement in the historic area as opposed to R-6. <br /> There were no objectors present. <br /> It was moved and seconded(John/Sharpe)to forward Cal. No. 02-41 to City Council with <br /> recommendation for approval. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
