Mr. John stated that a potential option is to rezone the site from M-3 to O-1 and asked if that <br /> would be practical. Ms. Miller stated that it would not be practical as the paint store wishes to <br /> remain at the site. Mr. Van Steenhuyse stated that schools are only allowed in a residential ' <br /> district or PD. A mixed use requires a PD. ' <br /> Mr. Phillip Cochran, Consulting Engineer,was present and spoke for the petition representing ' <br /> Pastor Glenn Livingston and Robertson Charter School. Mr.Cochran stated that the school ', <br /> operated in the building to the west last year. More space was needed thus the move to the east. ii <br /> The Regional Superintendent of School reviewed and approved this site. j <br /> Mr. Anderson stated that the rezoning is being done after the building is occupied. Petitioner a g <br /> occupied without the rezoning. <br /> Mr. Nordholm asked if any of the trees in the boulevard counted toward the points system in the <br /> landscape plan. Mr. Van Steenhuyse answered no. <br /> Pastor Glenn Livingston, President of Robertson Charter School, was present and stated that the <br /> Realtor had told them that since the school was leasing the building and not purchasing it that <br /> rezoning was not required. City staff was at the school with the work crew and it was <br /> determined that rezoning was necessary. Pastor Livingston stated that the school had spent <br /> thousands of dollars in the neighborhood and intends to stay and continue making improvements. <br /> It was moved and seconded(Nordholm/Sands)to forward Cal. No. 02-40 to City Council with <br /> recommendation for approval. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
