MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> DECATUR CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br /> Thursday, February 7, 2002, 3:00 P.M. <br /> City Council Chambers, Decatur Civic Center <br /> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> The February 7, 2002 meeting of the Decatur City Plan Commission was called to order at 3:00 <br /> P.M. in the City Council Chambers, Third Floor of the Decatur Civic Center,by Chairman Jim <br /> Schiller who determined a quorum was present. <br /> Members Present: Jim Schiller, Dave Anderson, Doug Claypool, William Clevenger, Steve <br /> John, Dan Oakes, Mike Shampine, Tom Smith, Phyllis Washington <br /> Members Absent: Susie Peck, Phyllis Sands <br /> Staff Present: A.J. Krieger, Steve Van Steenhuyse, Dane Bragg, Kathy Miller, Hala <br /> Ahmed, Joselyn Stewart, Steve Jones, Lori Henderson <br /> It was moved and seconded (Shampine/Anderson) to accept the minutes of the December 14, <br /> 2001 special meeting and January 3, 2002 City Plan Commission meeting as presented. Motion <br /> carried with abstention by Commissioner Washington. Commissioner Jolin not present at vote. <br /> New Business <br /> It was moved and seconded (Shampine/Smith) to remove Cal. No. 01-43 from the table. Motion <br /> ��` <br /> al. No. 01-43 Peti on of JOSEPH and MARRION ROBLING and BRAD DORAN, <br /> 2 and 2218 Ridgeview Drive, to vacate the 1600 BLOCK of SOUTH <br /> EST GATE DRIVE. <br /> Ms. Miller presented the recommendation of staff: <br /> The West Gate Drive right of way was dedicated when the Hall and Bray Addition was platted. <br /> The road was never constructed at this location and there are no current plans to construct the <br /> road north of Ridgeview Drive. Although the subject property is adjacent to Conservation <br /> District property, the Conservation District and the Park District have no plans for trail or <br /> bikeway access at this location. The petitioners would like to vacate the right of way and split <br /> the property. <br /> An appraisal for the area to be vacated was submitted with an estimated market value of$2500. <br /> A second appraisal was submitted to the City of$3000. The petitioner will pay the City $3000 <br />
