ORDINANCE NO. 2001-89 ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE AND AUTHORIZING MODIFICATION OF RATES -CHAPTER 56- -REFUSE REMOVAL - WHEREAS, on October 2, 2001, pursuant to Section 42 of Chapter 56 of the City Code, a public hearing was held regarding a proposed increase in the maximum authorized rates charged for refuse removal in the City of Decatur by licensed haulers, said hearing being conducted by Assistant City Manager Michael Mowen upon designation as hearing officer by City Manager Steve Garman; and, WHEREAS, after the closing of the record in said hearing, on November 26, 2001, Assistant City Manager Michael Mowen did file his recommendations for such rate increases with the City Clerk; and, WHEREAS, the Council now wishes to modify said recommendations, and further wishes to amend the City Code, at Chapter 56, in accordance with such modifications. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Section 2 of Chapter 56 of the City Code be, and it is hereby, modified and amended such that the definition of "Basic removal service" contained therein is amended and the definition of"Large item pick-up" is added thereto, said amended and added definitions to provide as follows: Basic removal service: Twice weekly removal other than landscape waste, or, at the option of a single-family household customer, once weekly removal, each with one weekly removal of landscape waste and with one annual large item pick-up.
