section provided, upon the request in writing of said owner received by said
<br /> Director, the respective registrations of water furnished shown by each of said
<br /> meters shall be accumulated and the payment for such water shall be computed
<br /> upon the basis of the total of such accumulated registrations. The intervening of a
<br /> street, alley, or public easement or way between such lots or parcels of ground
<br /> under single ownership shall be ignored in determining the contiguity thereof. In
<br /> the event any part of such lot or parcel, or such contiguous lots or parcels, is
<br /> separated into more than one ownership, the respective separate parcels shall
<br /> thereafter be served by separate service lines.
<br /> 7. REMOTE READER. Water meters, whether installed after May 23,
<br /> 1977, or in place on May 23, 1977, shall be located or relocated, at the expense of
<br /> the owner of the premises served, so as, in the determination of the Director of the
<br /> Department of Water Management, to control the entire supply of water to the
<br /> premises and in a clean, dry safe place so that the meter or meters not be subject
<br /> to great temperature variance and be properly protected from freezing and other
<br /> hazards, and be easily accessible for installation, maintenance, reading, and
<br /> replacement. Meters installed on or after May 23, 1977, shall at the time of
<br /> installation be equipped with a device, approved by said Director, which will
<br /> permit said meter to be read without enhy into the building or other enclosure
<br /> wherein the meter is located, said device being known as a remote reader.
<br /> Whenever the Department of Water Management installs a remote reader in a
<br /> service theretofore not equipped therewith, whether in connection with the
<br /> replacement of a meter by said Department, or on a meter then in place, the actual
<br /> cost to the City thereof shall be charged to the owner of such service either, at the
<br /> option of such owner, on a single bill, or one-fourth such cost plus 25 cents on
<br /> each of four successive bills. The register face of the remote reader, the location
<br /> of which may be prescribed by said Director, shall be so placed and maintained as
<br /> to be readily accessible for reading at all reasonable times. After original
<br /> installation, said Department shall test, inspect, repair, or replace remote readers
<br /> as needed.
<br /> 9. CLASSIFICATION OF WATER SERVICES. Water services from
<br /> the water system of the City are hereby classified as domestic quarterly services,
<br /> domestic monthly services, non-domestic quarterly services, non-domestic
<br /> monthly services, and large user monthly services. The term "monthly" as used in
<br /> this Chapter, unless some other meaning is clearly intended from the context in
<br /> which the same is used, means a period of twenty-eight, twenty-nine, thirty, or
<br /> thirty-one days, as the case may be, whether the same commences or ends on the
<br /> first day of a calendar month or otherwise.
<br /> T'he term "quarterly" as used in this Chapter, unless some other meaning is
<br /> clearly intended from the context in which the same is used, means a period of
<br /> days approximating the number of days which equals one quarter of a year and
<br /> without regard to the day of the calendaz month or day of the calendar year upon
