� ,' � term hereof for said additional two-year period at least ninety (90) <br /> � �, �.� � days prior to the otherwise applicable termination date. <br /> Nothing contained herein shall prevent, limit, or otherwise <br /> interfere with the right of the City to terminate the services of <br /> Employee at any time, subject only to the provisions set forth in § 3 <br /> hereof. <br /> The parties hereto wish to correct an error contained within such language and provide that the City <br /> may terminate the services of Employee at any time, subject only to the provisions set forth in § 4 <br /> of the Agreement rather than in§ 3 of the Agreement, so said language will provide, in its entirety, <br /> as follows: <br /> Term of Agreement. This Agreement shall become effective for all <br /> purposes as of October 18, 1999, following action by the lawfully <br /> constituted City Council of the City if said Council approves this <br /> Agreement by proper resolution, and said Agreement shall continue <br /> in effect thereafter for a period up to and including October 31,2002, <br /> unless otherwise extended in accordance with the provisions hereof. <br /> In the event written notice is not given by either party hereto <br /> to the other of them ninety(90) days prior to the termination date as <br /> hereinabove provided,this Agreement shall be extended on the same <br /> terms and conditions as herein provided, all for an additional period <br /> of two years. Said Agreement shall continue thereafter for successive <br /> two-year periods unless either party hereto provides to the other of <br /> them written notice that the first party does not wish to extend the <br /> term hereof for said additional two-year period at least ninety (90) <br /> days prior to the otherwise applicable termination date. I <br /> Nothing contained herein shall prevent, limit, or otherwise I� <br /> interfere with the right of the City to terminate the services of <br /> Employee at any time, subject only to the provisions set forth in § 4 <br /> hereof. <br /> C. Section 4(c) of the Agreement provided formerly as follows: <br /> If this Agreement is terminated by the City,without cause as defined <br /> within § 4(a) hereof, at any time within the applicable term hereof, <br /> the City shall pay, as severance pay,to Employee a sum equal to six <br /> (6) months salary at Employee's then current rate of salary. . <br /> -2- <br />
