� ��� � „ � ' <br /> � , , , , , , , <br /> ' � EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT � � <br /> �V' ����%�r'!'�.�t� <br /> This Employment Agreement is entered into on this�� day of Oct�er, 1999, by and <br /> between the City of Decatur, an Illinois municipal corporation (the "City"), and Steve Gannan <br /> ("Employee"), a resident of Pensacola, Florida at the time this Agreement is entered into. <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> WHEREAS, the City desires to appoint Employee as its City Manager for the term of <br /> this Agreement as the same may be extended in accordance with the provisions hereof; <br /> WHEREAS, Employee desires to serve the City as its City Manager for the term of this <br /> Agreement as the same may be extended in accordance with the provisions hereof; <br /> WHEREAS, the parties acknowledge that Employee has been and will remain a member <br /> of the International City/County Management Association ("ICMA") and that Employee is <br /> subject to the ICMA Code of Ethics; <br /> WHEREAS, the parties hereto wish to memorialize the relationship and their agreement <br /> as set forth herein. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual representations, covenants, <br /> promises and warranties set forth herein, together with other good and valuable consideration, the <br /> receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, the parties hereto do hereby covenant, <br /> warrant and agree as follows: <br /> 1. Duties and Obligations of Employee. During the period of employment as <br /> described herein, Employee shall perform the duties and possess the responsibilities of City <br /> Manager as set forth within the applicable statutes of the State of Illinois, and more specifically § <br /> 5-3-7 of the Illinois Municipal Code, 65 ILCS 5/5-3-7 (1998), as said provision now exists or <br /> 1 <br />
