� . <br /> CHAPTER 44.1 <br /> FIRE RESCUE AND RESPONSE ADVISORY BOARD <br /> 1. ESTABLISHED. There is hereby created and established the Fire Rescue and <br /> Response Advisory Board (hereinafter referred to as "Board") for the City of Decatur, Illinois, <br />; <br /> which shall consist of seven members. Five members shall be citizens and residents of the City, 'I <br /> who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Council, and the Fire Chief and � <br /> the Risk Manager of the City of Decatur, or their designees, shall be ex officio members thereof. �� <br /> 2. TERM OF OFFICE. Upon original appointment of the citizen members of the <br /> Board, one(1) shall be appointed for a term of one (1) year, two (2) shall be appointed for terms <br /> of two (2) years and two (2) shall be appointed for terms of three (3) years. Thereafter, all <br /> members shall be appointed for terms of three (3) years. In the event that a vacancy shall occur <br /> during the term of any member, his or her successor shall be appointed for the unexpired portion �, <br /> of that term by the Mayor, with the approval of the Council. <br /> 3. COMPENSATION. Citizen members of the Board shall serve without <br /> compensation. II <br /> 4. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. It shall be the responsibility of the Board to � <br /> review, study and analyze the techniques, policies and procedures of the Decatur Fire Department <br /> with regard to hazardous material response and confined space and trench rescue, as well as to 'I <br /> review and study such topics generally, and to advise the Department with regard thereto. <br /> 5. PROCEDURES. The Board shall choose its own officers and make its own rules and � <br /> regulations.
