Couter, Corporation Counsel <br /> RE: Fire Rescue and Response Advisory Board <br /> The Council has directed staff to prepare an ordinance establishing an advisory <br /> commission regarding those response and rescue functions of the Fire Department <br /> which were the subject of a recent agreement with several of the industries in the City - <br /> specifically, hazardous material response and confined space and trench rescue. <br /> Proposed Chapter 44.1 of the City Code establishes the "Fire Rescue and Response <br /> Advisory Board", which will meet and advise the Fire Department on those issues. The <br /> Board will consist of five (5) citizens, appointed by the Mayor with the consent of <br /> Council, as well as the City's Fire Chief and Risk Manager. The Board will set its own <br /> schedule and make its own rules of procedure. <br /> Staff recommends approval of the proposed Chapter 44.1 of the City Code. <br /> JWC:ps <br /> cc: Wendy L.
