Miller, AICP, Planner�� SUBJECT: Annexation of Surrounded Areas on North Neely Avenue A tract of land located North of Mound Road on North Neely Avenue (3800-4200) is scheduled for annexation consideration by the City Council. The tract contains less than 60 acres and is entirely surrounded by the corporate limits. The appropriate ordinance will be received on Monday, August 16, 1999, with final action being taken on Monday, August 30, 1999. The tract is described as follows: Lots Two (2) and Three (3) of Ryherd lst Addition Lots Nineteen(19), Twenty(20), Twenty-one (21), Twenty-two (22) and the South 135 feet of Lot Twenty-three (23), of Virginia 3rd Subdivision The North 38.9 feet of Lot One, Lots Two (2), Three(3), Four(4), Five (5) and Six(6) of Spaugh's 1 st Addition The total area of the tract is 15.4 acres and contains 20 single family dweilings. Most of the surrounding area is zoned R-1; when annexed the area will come into the city as R-1 Single Family Residence District. The owners of these properties will be notified prior to final action being taken on August 30, 1999. (Letters were mailed on 7uly 27, 1999.) In keeping with policy to annex surrounded areas and thereby create a more logical and consistent corporate boundary, staff recommends approval of the annexation as presented.
