Updating the operating system and corresponding files, performing routine <br /> maintenance and trouble shooting MDCs, BIOS updates, coordination with the <br /> manufacture regarding repairs. <br /> c. Updating files necessary for the operation of the HTE CAD program in the <br /> MDCs. <br /> d. Assist the Decatur Police Department (and other departments served) in training <br /> of the MDC operations and the writing of documentation/instructions on the <br /> operation of the system. <br /> e. Checking on the interface of the MDC /RF system/CAD. <br /> 2. In Field Report Writing <br /> a. Responsible for installation and maintenance of computer equipment necessary to <br /> implement this system including the Mobile Data Computers (currently used only <br /> for CAD operations), Administration Stations, and the Gateway (NT Server). <br /> b. Responsible for working in conjunction with the CAD Coordinator and HTE to <br /> interface the NT network with the AS/400 to ensure that files are correctly <br /> transmitted through the system. <br /> c. Responsible for updates of field computers (MDCs) in regards to operating <br /> system, corresponding files, ensuring that the CAD program operating on the <br /> MDCs works in conjunction with the Field Report Writing system. <br /> d. Connectivity and network issues with the existing equipment and LAN. <br /> 3. AS/400 Responsible for learning the AS/400 operating system including but not limited <br /> to performing routine maintenance on the system(not hardware maintenance, but <br /> back-ups, security changes, IPLs, devices, printers, etc.) This person would serve as a <br /> back up to Maria Hammon in areas of the AS/400 operating system issues. <br /> 5. Work in relation to the Emergency Telephone System Board to determine needs and <br /> capabilities of the DPD equipment in relationship to CAD operations, GIS, ANI/ALI <br /> equipment, and phone systems. <br /> 6.. Personal Computers <br /> a. Moves, installs, and configures personal computers, terminals, mobile data <br /> computers, printers, and related equipment, including preparing and installing <br /> specialized cable assemblies, and coordinates all related activities. <br /> b. Modifies and makes repairs to personal computer hardware and peripherals, to <br /> include replacement of internal components, following design or installation <br /> specifications. <br /> c. Serves as primary contact person for city staff regarding personal computer <br /> hardware and software procedures and problems, to include PC operating systems <br /> and productivity application suite software. Solicits the assistance of other <br /> technical specialists on activities outside area of expertise. <br />
