1 ' <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 97-91 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE <br /> - CHAPTER 34 - <br /> - TRAFFIC - <br /> -DOWNTOWN AREA- <br /> BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That Chapter 34 of the City Code of the City of Decatur be, and the same is <br /> hereby, amended and modified at Section 1 thereof, by adding a new paragraph defining <br /> "Downtown Resident", immediately following the definition of "Downtown Area", said <br /> definition for "Downtown Resident" to provide as follows: <br /> Downtown Resident: A natural person over the age of sixteen (16) <br /> years whose domicile is wholly located within the Downtown Area of the <br /> City of Decatur. <br /> Section 2. That said Chapter 34 of the City Code be, and the same is hereby, further <br /> amended and modified by adding thereto a new Section, designated Section 71, and renumbering <br /> the existing Section 71 and each successive Section, accordingly. Said new Section to provide as <br /> follows: <br /> 71. DOWNTOWN RESIDENT PARKING PERMITS. Each <br /> Downtown Resident shall, upon payment of Thirty Dollars ($30.00) per <br /> month to the Finance Department of the City of Decatur, be eligible to <br /> receive a single, nontransferable "Downtown Resident Parking Permit" <br /> authorizing the vehicle described in the permit application only, to park in <br /> the Downtown Area without additional fee, as follows: <br /> (A) From 3:00 P.M. through 10:00 A.M. Mondays through Saturdays, <br /> and all day Sundays, vehicles displaying valid Downtown Resident <br /> Parking Permits may be parked at any otherwise unrestricted <br /> City-controlled, metered or non-metered parking garage, surface parking <br /> lot, or street parking space, excent those metered or posted spaces <br /> designated "20 Minute Limit", "30 Minute Limit", or "1 Hour Limit". <br />
