Alexander, Lake Manager <br /> SUBJECT: Proposed Revision of City Code Chapter 66 �I <br /> (Regulation of Lake Decatur) <br /> During the previous City Manager's term, "neighborhood" boat dock permits were issued, <br /> based on an interpretation of City Code Chapter 66, Section 48(n), which allows dock permits in <br /> specific situations. Section 48(n) currently states: <br /> Where su�cient room is available at locations other than those adjacent to privately <br /> owned premises, permits may be issued to groups or clubs, applicatiorts for which, <br /> whether initial or annual renewal, shall be accompanied by a list of the names of those <br /> o�cers and members thereof, their respective home addresses, a telephone number for <br /> each, the license rrumber of each boat to be operated from such pier or dock, and <br /> locatio»of each boat at the pier or dock. <br /> Eight neighborhood boat docks were permitted under Section 48(n) in recent years. These <br /> pernuts were issued to neighborhood residents who owned property near the Lake, but not <br /> immediately adjacent to the Lake, where a City street terminated at the Lake's shoreline. No new <br /> permits have been issued since March of 1996. The advantages and disadvantages associated <br /> with these docks are: <br />
