MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE DECATUR CITY PLAN COMMISSION Thursday, September 5, 1996, 3:00 P.M. City Council Chambers, Decatur Civic Center The September 5, 1996 meeting of the Decatur City Plan Commission was called to order at 3:04 II P.M. in the City Council Chambers, Third Floor of the Decatur Civic Center, by Chairman David ' Swartz who determined a quorum was present. �'� Members Present: David Swartz, Wiliiam Clevenger, Monte Cherry, Jim Schiller, Mike �� Shampine, David Golden �� Members Absent: Richard Demirjian, Terry Berk, Jerry Finney, Bill Sands, Phyllis III Washington I Staff Present: Robert McQueen, John Couter, Lori Nale It was moved and seconded (Schiller/Golden) to approve the minutes of the August 1, 1996 �� meeting of the Decatur City Plan Commission as presented. Motion carried unanimously. ', Old Business Cal. No. 96-51 Petition of CHRIST EVANGELICAL CHURCH to rezone a ortion of II P the premises commonly known as 34 South Country Club Road from R-2 ', Single Family Residence District to B-2 Commercial District. '�, Mr. Orville Kahn, Attorney, was present and spoke for the petitioner representing Christ II Evangelical Church. Mr. Warren Call, church committee member, was also present. Mr. Kahn I stated that the petitioner wishes to lease a portion of land (1.923 acres) to OCI Corporation for I the purpose of constructing and maintaining an outdoor billboard southwest of Route 36 and , southeast of the intersection of Country Club Road and Route 36. Petitioner seeks to rezone the �, land from R-2 to B-2 to allow the billboard. �I There were no objectors present.
