ADDITIONS AND B�����A�S <br /> CHAPTER 24 <br /> n�T�� nrr AGING ADVISORY CONIl�IISSION <br /> 1. ESTABLISHED. For the purpose of advising the Council, the Manager, the City <br /> staff, and to cooperate and advise others that may be concerned, there is hereby established the <br /> A�e-e�t Aging Advisory Commission. <br /> 2. COMMISSIONERS. The Commission sha11 consist of seven commissioners who <br /> shall serve without compensation and who shall be residents of the City of Decatur, Illinois, <br /> selected so that the Commission shall have a broad representation of senior citizens as follows: <br /> not less than four commissioners shall be above the age of 59, and at least three commissioners <br /> shall represent senior service agencies and organizations or areas of concern in the City of <br /> Decatur and the County of Macon. <br /> 3. TERMS OF COMMISSIONERS. The Mayor, with the consent of the Council, shall <br /> appoint the commissioners. Appointments shall be made for a term of three years. Vacancies <br /> shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor with the consent of the Council for the unexpired <br /> portion of the term vacated. The Chairman, Vice Chairman, and any other officers deemed <br /> necessary by the Commission shall be elected by the majority vote of the commissioners then in <br /> service. <br /> 4. BY-LAWS AND COMMTI"TEES. The Commission may adopt by-laws and rules of <br /> procedure to aid in the conduct of its business which said by-laws and rules of procedure shall be <br /> filed by the Commission with the City Clerk and the Commission may form such committees as it <br /> deems necessary or desirable to have concern or responsibility in specific fields of coordination, <br /> information, referral and other such matters in its area of concern. <br />
