(d) To perform normal and regular police duties when assigned by the Police Chief on <br /> occasion when it is impractical for members of the regular police department to perform normal <br /> and regular police duties; <br /> (e) To arrest or cause to be arrested, with or without process, all persons who break the <br /> peace, or who are found violating any municipal code or any criminal law of the State; <br /> (fl To commit arrested persons for examination; <br /> (g) When necessary, to detain arrested persons in custody until they can be brought <br /> before the proper court; <br /> (h) To exercise all other powers as conservators of the peace as may be from time to time <br /> prescribed by statute; <br /> (i) To serve and execute process for the violation of municipal ordinances or of any <br /> criminal law of the State within the corporate limits of the City and for this purpose to have all the <br /> common law and statutory power of sheriffs. <br /> 9. FIREARMS. Such auxiliary policemen shall not carry firearms except with the <br /> permission of the Police Chef and then only while in uniform and in the performance of their <br /> duties. <br /> 10. TRAINING. Such auxiliary policemen prior to entering upon any of their duties <br /> shall receive a course of training in the use of weapons and other police procedures as shall be <br /> appropriate in the exercise of the powers conferred upon them hereunder which training and <br /> course of study shall be determined and provided by the Police Chief and which shall be <br /> reasonably sufficient to equip such au�liary policemen to perform their duties and which course <br /> of training shall be not less than a total of sixty (60) hours in duration. The Police Chief shall file <br /> with the City Clerk a certificate attesting the successful completion of such training by each <br /> au�ciliary policeman before such auxiliary policeman enters upon any duty. <br /> 11. COMPENSATION. That said auxiliary policemen shall serve without <br /> compensation, except as may be from time to time otherwise authorized by the Council. <br />
