Quandt, E.I.T., Civil Engineer�f/� � <br /> �,_ <br /> Subject: Lake Grove Club - Hillside <br /> City Project 9617 <br /> The embankment on the westerly side of and north of Lake Grove Club has a lengthy <br /> history of slope failure problems (refer to attached locale map). The failures have included the <br /> sloughing of the embankment onto Lake Shore Drive Road causing the closure of the roadway as <br /> cleanup operations were performed. In addition, the slope is difficult to maintain and a source of <br /> sediment entering Lake Decatur. <br /> The Engineering Division prepared the plans and specifications for this project using <br /> geotechnical information recommendation obtained from SKS Engineers. The project was <br /> designed and bid for two options. Option A is for a concrete block retaining wall. Option B is <br /> for a railroad tie retaining wall. <br />
