. r
The additional laboratory space requirement would be met by converting the
office adjacent to the existing laboratory. The Maintenance Supervisor office will
be relocated to an office closer to the Shop. It was decided that the existing
large Conference Room could be divided into an office for the Maintenance
Supervisor and a smaller meeting room.
The need for increased security can easily be met with the addition of a lockable
door in the main corridor leading from the reception area.
Additional parking could be met by expanding the existing parking lot to the east
or south.
C. Preliminary Design Deliverables
1. Design Professional will prepare preliminary pencil sketches of the first floor
plan and basement showing all the new and remodeled spaces. Black &
Veatch will need to investigate the original shop drawings to ascertain the
best location for the basement walls relative to the pipe joints.
2. Design Professional will prepare two pencil sketches of building elevations
showing the addition to the front of the existing plant.
3. Design Professional will submit the preliminary floor plans, building
elevations, and parking area modifications for review and comment before
continuing. Five copies will be provided. Following review, Design
Professional will meet with client to discuss comments.
4. Design Professional, following receipt of comments related to the Item 3
submittal, will prepare and submit 5 copies of a draft preliminary design report
for review and comment. The report will include an opinion of probable
construction costs and construction schedule.
5. Design Professional, following receipt of comments related to Item 4
submittal, will prepare and submit 5 copies of the preliminary design report.
6. Design Professional will meet with the client, if requested, to present the
preliminary design report and make minor revisions as necessary.
Decatur,IL 2 of 3 07/11/00
SWTP Improvements
Admin Area
Prof Services Prop
