They are <br /> Eco-Systems, St. Louis, MO; Key Equipment, Maryland Heights, MO; Standard Equipment, <br /> Chicago, IL; and Woody's Municipal Supply, Edwardsville, IL. <br /> ' All of the bids indicate they would meet our specifications with a few minor exceptions. <br /> We do not feel that any of the exceptions would warrant not accepting the bids. Key <br /> Equipment and Standard Equipment have both bid the same sweepers--Elgin Pelican P, dual <br /> broom, 2000 Series. Therefore, the only decision that needs to be made is which one has the <br /> lowest bid. Standard quoted a higher bid price. Therefore, we will leave them out of the <br /> following discussion. .- <br /> Over the past five years, we have kept an accurate accounting of the costs involve in <br /> maintaining the sweepers we currently own. Two of those sweepers are the Elgin Pelican P <br /> and the Johnston 3000 Series sweepers. The City has never owned an Athey/Mobil sweeper <br /> and, therefore, we do not have any in-house cost records for this sweeper. <br /> Our records indicate that it cost$23,576 more to maintain a Johnston, Series 3000 <br /> sweeper as it does to maintain an Elgin Pelican P sweeper.
