Colli , Jr., Assistant City Manager f ntergovernmental Programs <br /> Paul McChan , Mass Transit Administrator�L,�,� <br /> RE: Federal Transit Administration Operating and Capital Assistance <br /> Grant#IL-90-X388 <br /> The attached resolution authorizes the filing of an application for federal funding for FY 2000. The <br /> application requests a total of$901,814 from FTA for the Public Transit System. $801,814 will be <br /> used to offset the operating deficit of the Transit System for FY-2000 (7/1/2000 - 6/30/2001); this <br /> amount is about 32% of the annual operating cost of the system. $100,000 will be added to the state <br /> and federal grants already obtained to complete the funding necessary to construct the proposed <br /> multi-modal transportation center in downtown Decatur. <br /> A public hearing was held on Friday, May 26, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. to discuss this grant application. <br /> No negative comments were received. Staff recommends that the proposed Operating and Capital <br /> Grar_t application be filed with FTA.
