.
CONSERVATION OF SCULPTURE AND OBJECTS STUDIO
5330 N.OCONTO AVE. CHICAGO,ILLINOIS 606 56 TEL:(773)594-1451 FAX(773)594-0583 AndrzeJ DaJnowski
HASC Chicago, September 12, 1999
Dane C. Bragg
Department of Community Development
One Gary K. Anderson Plaza
Decatur, Ilhnois 62523
We are pleased by the invitation to submit our proposal towards condition assessment
of nine monuments at Decatur Illinois. Our studio would be honored to conserve the monuments
also and protect their unique landmark status by maintaining them in the future. As per your
Request for Proposal(RFP), we are submitting the proposal and estimates together with
information on the credentials of our studio to perform this work.
The Director of the studio and Sr. Conservator, Andrzej Dajnowski, a professional member
of AIC, will be on-site during the examination of the sculptures. Mr. Dajnowski will represent our
business, and direct all work involved in this project including taking samples and organizing
testing of materials. He will be assisted by a team of conservation assistants and technicians
(during treatment only), with varying levels of conservation experience and knowledge. All of the
team members have extensive experience working with large scale bronze and stone statuary
and fountains.
All future treatment aspects will be discussed and approved by the representative of the
owner. It is understood that CSOS will perform the examination in a timely fashion, due to the
importance of this project and schedule.
In the event of an unforeseen problem, the treatment options will be discussed with the
owner. We have received the RFP in September, 1999. Again, we would like to express our
gratitude for the opportunity to submit our proposal. If there are any questions concerning this
proposal, please do not hesitate to contact our studio.
Sincerely,
,^ f,.o
Andrzej Dajnowski
Director of CSOS
