ATTACHMENT III <br /> AGENCY: HERITAGE BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CENTER <br /> PROJECT: ��Oasis Day Center" <br /> PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Oasis' primary goal is the maintenance of a"safe haven" for <br /> those unwilling to accept services from the existing human service system, with a secondary goal <br /> of building sufficient trust in this population to draw them into the human service system at the <br /> appropriate point. It emphasizes social and recreational opportunities rather than"treatment," <br /> making coffee, refreshments and restroom facilities available and tolerating smoking inside the <br /> facility. <br /> FUNDING REQUESTED: $25,000 <br /> FUNDING RECOMMENDATION: � <br /> REVISED FUNDING RECOMMENDATION: 1$ 0,000 <br /> RATIONALE: Staff will work with this agency to ensure that national objectives to <br /> benefit low/moderate income persons and service requirements are met. <br /> Funding recommendation is based on Council's directive issued at the <br /> meeting of October 25, 1999. <br /> Page -6- <br />
