This was discussed with Edwin V. Milanski of BGM. He advised the City that
under the circumstances the bid is reasonable. In addition, he commented that BGM is currently
supervising work by Universal Mechanical on another project and has found its work to be
satisfactory. Based on Mr. Milanski's comments and the City's need to proceed with this work,
the receipt of one bid is considered acceptable.
The funds for this project will be from the Water Capital Fund.
It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding
the contract for the SWTP Corley Landfill and Vulcan Pit Closures, City Project 9421-B, to
Universal Mechanical as the lowest responsive, responsible bidder for their bid amount of
$78,420.00, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute the contract.
City staff will be available to answer questions that Council may have at the meeting.
attach.: 3
cc: John A.
