It was determined that the two bidders <br /> had the same sub - contractor for two pay items. The two bid items involved the <br /> removal and replacement of sanitary sewer lines. The unit prices submitted by both <br /> bidders for this work was more than twice that estimated by the Engineer. Staff's <br /> consideration of this matter determined it to be in the City's best interest to delete these <br /> two bid items. This decision is based upon the limited amount of work involved with <br /> these two items. The items were included in the bid to obtain unit prices in the event the <br /> work needed to be done. Deleting these items did not change the outcome of <br /> determining the low bidder. The deletion of these items does require the approval of the <br /> low bidder.
