Newell, Traf'iic Engineer��i� <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Allocating Funds for the Proposed Modernization of <br /> Trat�'ic Signals at the Intersection 27th Street and Dlinois Rt. 48 <br /> An item on the agenda for the October 5, 1998, City Council meeting is a resolution <br /> appropriating funds to pay the City's portion of the proposed modernization of traffic signals at <br /> the intersection of 27th Street and Illinois Route 48. <br /> This resolution follows resolution R98-107, adopted September 7, 1998, wherein the <br /> Council authorized an agreement between the City of Decatur, the County of Macon and the <br /> State of Illinois for traffic signal modernization at the subject intersection. By this resolution, the <br /> City will appropriate $1,207.00 in Motor Fuel Tax Funds to cover the City's portion of this <br /> $48,300 project. The City's funds will be 2.5% of the estimated overall improvement cost. The <br /> remainder will be paid by the County, State and Federal�overnments. <br /> As stated previously, this improvement will entail the installation of left turn signals for Rt. <br /> 48, replacement of the signal controller and replacement of the electrical service. <br /> Staff will be present to answer any questions the Council may have. <br /> attach: 1 <br />
