Newell,P.E., TratTic Engineer���`,/f <br /> V( <br /> 1 <br /> SUBJECT: City Project 9813 <br /> Downtown Street Lighting Improvements <br /> An item on the agenda for the October 5, 1998 City Council meeting is the acceptance of <br /> bids and award of a contract to replace the wiring in the downtown street light poles. <br /> This work will increase the safety and reliability of the City's downtown street li�hting by <br /> replacing the existing cable which is over 30 years old with the cable insulation crumbling in many <br /> places. The work will also renew the splices between the main line cable and the street lighting <br /> cable which will add additional integrity to the lighting system in terms of safety and reliability. <br /> The project plans and specifications were prepared by the Traffic Engineer. The project <br /> was advertised and bids were opened on September 28, 1998.
