Swanson, City Engineer �� <br /> SUBJECT: Brush College Road Watermain E�rtension <br /> City Project 9715 <br /> The northerly extension of City water service was noted as a public improvement in a prior <br /> agreement between the City and the developer regarding property at the southeast corner of the <br /> intersection of Illinois Route 48 and Boyd Road. The agreement states that the City will extend <br /> water and sanitary sewer service to the property subject to agreed upon conditions being satisfied <br /> by the developers of the property. <br /> The design of the watermain extension was started about a year ago by the City's <br /> Engineering Division. It was undertaken at that time to meet the discussed development schedule <br /> and ensure the availability of water service to the property when it was needed. The design was <br /> completed in the spring of this year, but the project was not advertised for bids until July. The <br /> advertising of this project for bids was delayed because discussions and negotiations were <br /> continuing between the City and the developers. At this time, the City is waitin� to receive the <br /> final information from the developers, but staff is recommending that the City Council approve <br /> the award of the project so it may proceed with minimal delay after receipt of the final information <br /> from the developers. <br /> The watermain will extend north along the east side of Brush College Road from <br /> approximately the northeast corner of Richland Community College to approximately 300 feet <br /> south of Boyd Road.
