The extension of the watermain in <br /> Mound Road and connection to this watermain will provide an important loop within the <br /> distribution system to improve the reliability and service to customers in the far northeast area. <br /> The project was advertised and three bids were opened on July 23, 1998. The results of the <br /> bid opening(a bid tabulation is attached) are as follows: <br /> Compared to <br /> Engineer's Est. <br /> i r Bid Price Over�Under,� <br /> Engineer's Estimate $ 362,027.00 --- <br /> Bodine Services, Inc. $ 301,000.00 (16.86) <br /> Burdick Plumbing&Heating Co. $ 305,362.50 (15.65) <br /> Prairieland Construction $ 397,964.00 9.93 <br /> The funds for this project will come from the City's Water Capital Fund. <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding <br /> the contract for the Brush College Road Watermain Extension, City Project 9715, to Bodine <br /> Services, Inc., as the lowest responsive, responsible bidder for their bid amount of$301,000.00, <br /> and that the Mayor be authorized to execute the contract subject to the City receiving the <br /> required information from the developers. <br /> Staff will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to respond to questions that Council <br /> may have. <br /> attach.: 3 <br /> cc: John W.
