• «
 . . . .
.
. . • . ,
LEGAL DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM
No. 98-09 ,
April 30, 1998
TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
FROM: James L. Williams, Jr., City Manager
John W. Couter, Corporation Counsel
RE: Incubator
The City of Decatur is currently working with Borg-Warner, Mueller and Zexel to
investigate the Incubator site (a/k/a Decatur Business Center, 2121 S. Imboden Ct.) for
possible contamination. Montgomery Watson, the environmental consultant hired by the
parties, has suggested some modifications to the original scope of work which could greatly
reduce costs in the overall project, although it would increase them in the near term. The
other parties have agreed to the modifications, and staff recommends that the City concur.
A resolution authorizing such modifications is submitted for Council approval.
JWC:ps
cc: Wendy L. Morthland
John T. Robinson
