Reed, Mass Transit Administrator �� <br /> Subject: Amended Federal Capital Grant Application for Mass Transit <br /> The City currently has a capital grant agreement with the U. S. Department of <br /> Transportation, Federal Transit Administration for the purchase of 1 transit coach, bus passenger <br /> shelters, office and computer equipment, and maintenance equipment. Total project costs are <br /> $256,000 and the federal share is $204,800. <br /> Upon City Council approval, an amended grant application will be filed with the FTA to <br /> substitute 2 trolley coaches for the 1 transit coach presently programmed in the grant project at a <br /> cost of$220,000. The trolleys will be used to operate shuttle service in the downtown area. <br /> It is expected that the vehicles can be acquired by the end of the year. <br />
