Esting City staff does not
have sufficient time to administer the day-to-day activities of this grant in addition to other
priority activities. MCSWCD staff is already conducting programs similar to the grant program.
Therefore, it appears to be most efficient if they would also administer this grant. City staff
proposes that the MCSWCD be reimbursed (at a cost not to exceed $26,513) for grant
administration and supplies. This administration expense is included in the overall grant budget.
If approved, grant expenses would be:
Technical education sessions and promotional items $ 50,445.00 (27%)
Water quality cost share program $108,042.00 (59%)
MCSWCD administration and supplies $ 26,513.00 14%
TOTAL $185,000.00 (100%)
City staff recommends approval of the attached IEPA grant and the grant administration
contract between the City and the Macon County Soil & Water Conservation District to begin
this innovative project.
attach.: 2
cc: Jan Carpenter, IEPA
Marilyn Parker, MCSWCD
