• « <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> THIS AGREEMENT made by and between the City of Decatur, Illinois, a municipal <br /> corporation ("City"), and Prairieland Towing, Inc., an Illinois corporation, operating a towing <br /> service located at 2710 N. Woodford, Decatur, Illinois, hereinafter referred to as "Contractor". <br /> For and in consideration of the premises and obligations herein stated, the City and <br /> Contractor hereby agree as follows: <br /> 1. The Contractor shall remove and/or impound any vehicle not owned or leased by the <br /> City from the streets of the City and adjacent areas upon the order and direction of any City police <br /> officer or impoundment officer. By way of example, but not limitation, this includes removing <br /> wrecked vehicles from accident scenes, removing vehicles which constitute a traffic hazard, <br /> removing vehicles that may be evidence of a crime, removing vehicles involving injuries where the <br /> operator is unable to select an option or for removal resulting from an accident, and removing any <br /> other privately owned vehicles in accordance with any ordinance of the City of Decatur or laws of <br /> the State of Illinois. <br /> 2. The Contractor shall provide a vehicle storage lot within the corporate jurisdiction of <br /> the City with sufficient space to accommodate approximately 250 - 300 vehicles, as approved by <br /> the Chief of Police. Contractor shall not store towed vehicles at any location other than the <br /> approved storage facility. <br /> 3. The Contractor shall provide security for said approved lot in terms of adequate <br /> fencing, lighting and security personnel on duty to safeguard all stored vehicles on a 24 hours, 7 <br /> day a week basis. <br />
