•
w Of•DEC
 C
v oe
'`41
December 10, 1996
PUBLIC WORKS MEMORANDUM
NO. 96 - 87
MEMORANDiJM TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council
FROM: James L. Williams, Jr., City Manager v
Bruce A. McNabb, Director of Public Works''
SUBJECT: Lake Decatur Watershed Management Feasibility Study Consultant
We have reviewed the attached recommendations of the review panel regarding a consultant
to assist in this study, and we have discussed these recommendations with Mr. Alexander. We
concur with these recommendations and recommend approval of the appropriate resolution.
While we recognize that the proposed consultant team may not be the least expensive option,
we believe that the additional benefits to the City will exceed the additional expense. The results
of this study will provide the City with valuable information which will enable the City to make
critical decisions next year. These decisions will affect the water system for many years and have
the potential to save the City several million dollars. We believe that it is worthwhile to get the
best possible information and recommendations.
City staff will be present to answer questions about this study and these recommendations.
cc: Review panel
Stephen John, EPE
