HARZA and staff have ageed on a scope of work and the corresponding fee. The basic
scope of work involves HARZA making additional inquiries of regulatory agencies to obtain more
detailed information than was obtained in the RSP Study regarding the possible use by the City of
the Lake Shelbyville water. Additional inquiries will be made of Lincoln-Prairie Water Company
to determine their plans and potential joint interests. HARZA will develop and evaluate supply
alternatives and operating strategies for the delivery of the water from Lake Shelbyville to the
City either as raw water or treated water. Alternatives will be evaluated for technical and
economic feasibility. A final written report will be submitted to the City. The fee for this work is
the total not-to-exceed amount of$9,320 and will be paid for from the City's Water Fund. A
copy of the proposal is attached. The work will be accomplished through an extension of the
previous contract.
It is recommended that the City Council approve the attached resolution approving the '
execution of a professional services contract with HARZA Consulting Engineers and Scientists
for the Lake Shelbyville Analysis and authorize the execution of the contract by the Mayor.
attch: 2
cc: Joe Johnson, HARZA
