, II
. +
r. . }
City of Decatur Mobile Data System Acceptance Test Plan '
Inbound Traffic Test
The inbound traffic test will be conducted by performing the following steps in the
following sequence:
• The test host will be connected to the RF system's BDLC.
 • The test vehicles that are equipped with the 96+MRMs and mobile test
workstations will be located near the transmitter site. - - - -
• A series of test procedures will be executed to verify that the test host, the
BDLC,and the 96+MRM-equipped test vehicles are communicating.
• The test host will open a log file which will be associated with the tower
site.
• The mobile test workstation in each of the 10 vehicles will generate and
pass to the 96+MRMs a series of test messages directed to the test host.
• Each message will consist of 43 characters of user data and will be passed
to the 96+MRMs at a steady rate.At the end of one hour, each of the
mobile test workstations will have passed the messages per hour per
vehicle of inbound traffic,as defined in the Projected Workload,to its 96+
MRM.
• The test host will record the messages received,as well as the
ACKs/NAKs generated by the BDLC in the tower log file.
• The generation of test messages at the rate described above will continue
for one hour.At the end of one hour, the mobile test workstations will
stop generating test messages and the tower log file on the test host will
be closed.
• The test host will generate a report that will list all test messages that
were successfully received from the mobile test workstations as evidenced
by an ACK message.
• If the total inbound messages per hour per vehicle as determined above
meets or exceeds the total inbound messages per lwur per vehicle shown
in the input model used in the Da'rAxADo Projected Workload
attachment previously referenced, the inbound component of the
throughput test will be determined to be successfully completed.
 SUCCESSFUL TEST COMPLETION
Although discussed separately, both the outbound and inbound components of the throughput
test will be conducted simultaneously and successful completion of the overall throughput test
is conditioned upon components handling the required workload.
iV Il/R/VO"
14
