'
The mobile test workstations will be equipped with a serial communications port that
will be used to connect the mobile test workstation to the 96+MRM. The mobile test ',
wpxkstation software will be provided by DATAxAo. The mobile test will perform the _. . _._____ j
following tasks: i
• Generate test messages of a preselected size
• Pass these test messages to the 96+MRM at preselected intervals via the '
serial communications port !,
• Time stamp delivery of the test messages to the 96+MIZM '
The City vehicles and personnel will be provided by the City as coordinated through the I,
City project manager. I
TEST PROCEDURE II,
Outbound Traffic Test i
The outbound traffic test will be conducted by performing the following steps in the ',
, following sequence: I
The test host will be connected to the RF system's BDLC.
• A series of test procedures will be executed to verify that the test host and ,
the BDLC are communicating.
The test vehicles that are equipped with the 96+MRMs and mobile test
workstations will be located near the tower site.
, • The test host will open a log file that will be associated with the tower
site.
• The test host will pass a series of test messages directed to the vehicle ,I
equipped with the 96+MRMs and mobile test workstations to the BDLC.
• Each message will consist of characters of user data and will be passed to I
the BDLC at a steady rate.
• The test host will log the messages as submitted,as well as the i,
ACKs/NAKs received from the 96+MRM/BDLC,in the log file. I
, • The mobile test workstations will log each message received by the 96+ ,
MRMs. I
The generation of test messages at the rate described above will continue '
for one hour.At the end of one hour, the test host will stop generating test ,
messages and the log file will be closed. '
• The test host will generate a report that will list all test messages '
generated that were successfully delivered to the mobile test workstations ',
as evidenced by an ACK message.
• If the total number of successful outbound messages meets or exceeds the
test traffic load prediction, the outbound component of the throughput
test will be determined to be successfully completed.
LR//O°
13
