The Engineering Division in coordination with the Fire Department prepared the bidding <br /> documents and advertised the project for bids. The bids were received and opened on <br /> October 15, 1996, for this project. The results of the letting are as follows: <br /> Compared to <br /> Engineer's Est. <br /> Bidder Bid Price Over(-Under) <br /> Engineer's Estimate (BWC) $ 143,000.00 --- <br /> Jerry Childs& Company $ 77,179.00 (46.03) <br /> Otto Baum& Sons, Inc. $ 114,200.00 (20.14) <br /> All Service Maintenance Corp. $ 127,488.22 (10.88) <br /> Mid-States General and Mechanical <br /> Contracting Corporation $ 135,000.00 ( 5.59) <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution <br /> awarding the contract for the Renovation of the Fire Training Tower to Jerry Childs & <br /> Company as the lowest responsible bidder in the amount of$77,179.00 and that the Mayor <br /> be authorized to execute the contract. <br /> City staff will be available to answer any questions that the Council may have at the <br /> meeting. <br /> Attach: 2 <br />
