Sands, Acting Assistant City Manager(� <br /> � SUBJECT: CBD Bird Repellent Contract. 1996-1999 <br /> � An item on the agenda for the meeting of Monday, September 30, 1996 is a resolution <br /> approving a contract with James L. Soules,Bird Repellent Company for the control of birds in the <br /> CBD. <br /> The previous 3-year contract (1993-96) expired on September 1, 1996 and was for <br /> $36,000. Since this is the bird roosting period, it is imperative that the operation proceed as soon <br /> as possible. <br /> Mr. Soules has ageed to a new contract for a total of$32,000 for the 1996-99 period. <br /> We also have a commitment of$3,000 from the Downtown Decatur Council (DDC) for the new <br /> contract, so the maximum obligation for the next 3 years is a total of$29,000. The DDC did not <br /> participate in the cost of the previous contract. <br /> Staff will be available to answer any questions at the meeting. � <br />
