',� ' <br /> , . .. .' . <br /> , AGREEMENT <br /> ,;e..� <br /> This Agreement is entered into on this� day of September, 1996, by and between the <br /> City of Decatur, Illinois, a municipal corporation (hereinafter referred to as the "City"), and James <br /> L. Williams, Jr., a resident of the City of Decatur, County of Macon, State of Illinois (hereinafter <br /> refened to as the "Employee"). <br /> WITNESSETH: <br /> WHEREAS, the City desires to appoint Employee as its City Manager for the term of this <br /> Agreement; <br /> WHEREAS, Employee desires to serve the City as its City Manager for the time period set <br /> forth above; and <br /> WHEREAS, the parties hereto wish to memorialize the relationship as set forth herein. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants and promises contained <br /> herein, and Ten Dollars ($10.00) in hand paid, and other good and valuable consideration, the <br /> receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, the parties hereto do hereby agree as <br /> follows: <br /> 1. PERIOD OF AGREEMENT. This Agreement shall become effective for a11 <br /> purposes as of September 19, 1996, following action by the lawfully constituted City Council of <br /> the City if said Council approves this Agreement by proper resolution, and said Agreement shall <br /> continue thereafter for an indefinite term, until terminated as is more particularly provided in § 16 <br /> of this Agreement. <br />
