Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Agreement with Bainbridge, Gee, Milanski, and Associates, Inc (BGM) to <br /> Design Improvements to the Shore Oak and Green Oak Pump Stations, <br /> City Project 2016-02 <br /> MMARY RE OMMENDATION: <br /> SU C <br /> It is recommended that the City Council approve the attached Resolution authorizing the Mayor to <br /> sign, and the City Clerk to attest, a Professional Engineering Services Agreement between the City <br /> of Decatur and Bainbridge, Gee, Milanski, and Associates, Inc. (BGM) to design improvements to <br /> the Shore Oak and Green Oak Pump Stations for a fee not to exceed $50,000. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> There have been no prior Council actions on this project <br /> SANITARY SEWER PRIORITIES: <br /> Under the direction of the City Council, the Public Works Department has established four priorities <br /> to improve the City's sanitary sewer collection system as defined in the Sanitary Sewer Master <br /> Plan. <br /> 1. Critical Large Diameter Sewer Rehabilitation. <br /> 2. Sanitary Sewer Overflows Due to Inflow and Infiltration. <br /> 3. System Operation and Maintenance <br /> 4. Small Diameter Sewer Rehabilitation <br /> The pump station improvements described address sanitary sewer priority 3, System Operation and <br /> Maintenance. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Shore Oak Pump Station <br /> The Shore Oak Pump Station was built in 1981 to serve the Shore Oak Subdivision on the south <br /> side of the City. The pump station is owned by the City of Decatur and maintained under contract <br /> by the Sanitary District of Decatur. The station discharges to a City sewer located in South Shores <br /> Drive. The pump station, pumps, and force main are 35 years old. It is located in the Shore Oak <br /> Drive cul-de-sac. The design and construction of the pump station met industry standards when it <br /> was first built; however, the pump station no longer meets design criteria acceptable by the Illinois <br /> Page � 1 <br />
