MINORITY PARTICIPATION GOALS: <br /> Contractors for City Projects shall comply with City Code Chapter 28, Article 10, "Minority <br /> Participation Goals for Public Warks Contracts." <br /> Contractors for City projects shall make a good faith effort to comply with the following minimum <br /> goals: <br /> 1. Ten (10) percent of the total dollar amount of the contract should be performed by Minority <br /> Business Enterprises if subcontracting opportunities are available; and, <br /> 2. Eighteen (18) percent of the total hours worked should be performed by minority workers. <br /> Subcontracting is not required for a City project. Entler has retained the services of a minority <br /> subcontractor to perform trucking operations for this project. <br /> In an effort to expand subcontracting opportunities, Entler identified an opportunity to utilize a <br /> subcontractor for providing landscaping services to restore areas damaged during the work. Five <br /> minority firms were contacted by phone or email, 1 firm submitted a price quote that exceeded Entler's <br /> costs in doing the work in-house; therefore, they will not subcontract this work item. <br /> SCHEDULE: <br /> Work on this project will begin in June and is to be completed by June 1, 2017 <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: Funding for this project is currently allocated from the Sanitary Sewer Fund at <br /> approximately 75% of the project cost($297,098) for sanitary sewer work, and the Stormwater Fund at <br /> approximately 25% of the project cost($99,032) for storm sewer and drainage work. The Sewer Fund is <br /> supported by sanitary sewer user fees and the Stormwater Fund is supported by stormwater utility fees. <br /> The total project cost is $396,130. <br /> Staff Impact: The Capital Improvement Plan has allocated staff time for this project.
