Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Additional Motor Fuel Tax Funding to Improve the Mound Road Bridge Over <br /> Spring Creek East, Structure No. 058-3037 <br /> City Project 2013-25 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Council approve the attached Resolution authorizing the Mayor to <br /> sign, and the City Clerk to attest to the Resolution appropriating an additional $120,000 in State <br /> Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds to pay for the City's portion of the improvement of the Mound Road <br /> Bridge over Spring Creek(East). The additional funds are added to $200,000 in MFT funds <br /> approved previously for a total authorized MFT expenditure of$320,000. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> January 7, 2013 —Council approved Resolution No. R2013-02 appropriating $22,100 in State <br /> Motor Fuel Tax funds to pay for the agreement with URS Corporation to complete a preliminary <br /> design for the subject bridges. <br /> January 7, 2013 —Council approved Resolution No. R2013-01 authorizing a preliminary design <br /> services agreement between the City of Decatur and URS Corporation to complete a preliminary <br /> design to improve the Mound Road bridges over Spring Creek for a fee not to exceed $22,100. <br /> September 16, 2013—Council approved Resolution No. R2013-97 appropriating $115,769 in State <br /> Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds to pay for the agreement with Chastain &Associates, LLC to <br /> complete the final design for the Mound Road over Spring Creek East Bridge. <br /> September 16, 2013 —Council approved Resolution No. R2013-96 authorizing a Professional <br /> Engineering Services Agreement between the City of Decatur and Chastain& Associates, LLC, <br /> (Chastain), to complete a final design for the superstructure replacement of the Mound Road over <br /> Spring Creek East Bridge for a fee not to exceed $115,769. <br /> March 7, 2016—Council approved Resolution No. R2016-23 appropriating $200,000 in State <br /> Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds to pay for the City's projected 20% match ($183,000), with a <br /> $17,000 contingency, for the improvement of Mound Road Bridge over Spring Creek(East).
