E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Change Order#1 to the Agreement with Bainbridge, Gee, Milanski, and <br /> Associates, Inc. to Design the Starr Crest Pump Station Improvements, <br /> City Project 2014-32 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the Resolution authorizing Change Order <br /> #1 to the Engineering Services Agreement between the City of Decatur and Bainbridge, Gee, <br /> Milanski, and Associates, Inc. (BGM) to provide design services for the Starr Crest Pump Station <br /> Improvements. Change Order#1 adds $10,500 to the existing $63,308 Agreement for a total fee <br /> not to exceed $73,808. ', <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: II <br /> • August 18, 2014—The City Council approved Resolution R2014-94 authorizing a <br /> Professional Engineering Services Agreement between the City of Decatur and BGM to <br /> design the Starr Crest Pump Station Replacement Project for a fee not to exceed $62,308. <br /> SANITARY SEWER PRIORITIES: <br /> Under the direction of the City Council, the Public Works Department has established four <br /> priorities to improve the City's sanitary sewer collection system as defined in the Sanitary Sewer <br /> Master Plan. <br /> 1. Critical Large Diameter Sewer Rehabilitation <br /> 2. Sanitary Sewer Overflows Due to Inflow and Infiltration <br /> 3. System Operation and Maintenance <br /> 4. Small Diameter Sewer Rehabilitation <br /> The Starr Crest Pump Station Improvement project addresses sanitary sewer priority 3, System <br /> Operation and Maintenance. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Starr Crest Pump Station was built in 1965 to serve the Starr Crest Acres subdivision. The <br /> pump station is owned by the City of Decatur and maintained under a contract by the Sanitary <br /> District of Decatur. The station discharges through a 4" cast iron force main into a manhole at the <br /> north end of 31S` Street and then flows through City of Decatur sewer mains to the Sanitary <br /> District of Decatur's Country Club Pump Station. <br /> Page � 1 <br />
