t s <br /> CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> CLOSED, EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> MONDAY, JUNE 14 , 1993 <br /> On Monday, June 14 , 1993 , the City Council of the City of <br /> Decatur , Illinois , met in Study Session at 7 : 30 p.m. in the <br /> Council Conference Room, One Gary K. Anderson Plaza, Decatur , <br /> Illinois. Mayor Erik C. Brechnitz presided; together with him <br /> being Councilmen Stephen F. John, William Mitchell , Kent N. <br /> Mittelberg , Shirley M. Moore , William F. Oliver, and Randolph L. <br /> Van Alstine. Seven members were present and none were absent. <br /> Mayor Brechnitz declared a quorum present. <br /> City Manager James C. Bacon, Jr. attended the meeting. <br /> Councilman Oliver moved that the Council recess to Closed , <br /> Executive Session for the purpose of discussing land acquisition <br /> and labor relations; seconded by Councilman Mittelberg, and on <br /> call of the roll , Councilmen John, Mitchell , Mittelberg, Moore , <br /> Oliver, Van Alstine, and Mayor Brechnitz voted aye. The Mayor <br /> declared the motion carried. <br /> The meeting was closed to the public. <br /> Council discussed land acquisition for sewer construction in <br /> the northwest area of Decatur near the corner of Oakland Avenue <br /> and Arbor Drive. No formal action was taken. <br /> Council discussed the status of negotiations with both the <br /> library and Decatur Police Benevolent and Protective Labor <br /> Committee. No formal action was taken. <br /> Council discussed a possible site for the prison location. <br /> Staff was directed to prepare a resolution in support of this <br /> project. No formal action was taken. <br /> Following Closed Session, Councilman Mitchell moved that the <br /> meeting return to formal session; seconded by Councilman Moore , <br /> and on call of the roll , Councilmen John, Mitchell , Mittelberg, <br /> Moore , Oliver, Van Alstine , and Mayor Brechnitz voted aye. The <br /> Mayor declared the motion carried. <br /> The meeting was opened to the public. <br /> There being no further business , Councilmen Oliver moved the <br /> meeting be adjourned; seconded by Councilman John, and on call of <br /> the roll , Councilmen John, Mitchell , Mittelberg, Moore, Oliver, <br /> Van Alstine , and Mayor Brechnitz voted aye.
