' , . <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the Village of Harristown owns and operates a water supply, storage and - <br /> distribution system; and, I, <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur, Illinois, owns and operates a water works system; and, <br /> WHEREAS, both parties desire to enter into an agreement to secure a supply of treated <br /> water from one system to the other system during episodes occasioned by a temporary failure of <br /> the second water works system or some part thereof. <br /> FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION of the promises and covenants respectively to be <br /> performed by the parties hereto, it is agreed by and between the Village of Harristown, Illinois, <br /> and the City of Decatur as follows: <br /> 1. That the term of this Agreement will be for a period of five (5) years commencing <br /> August 15, 1995. <br /> 2. That during the term of this Agreement, the Village may offer and maintain water <br /> service only within the corporate limits of the Village. The Village may furnish water to uses <br /> outside the corporate limits of the Village only upon consent of the City Council expressed by <br /> ordinance or resolution. <br /> 3. That any extension or modification of the Village water system sha11 be constructed in <br /> compliance with the then cunent standards established by the Illinois Environmental Protection <br /> � Agency. <br /> 4. That there shall be no connection, directly or indirectly, to the Village system or any <br /> connection of any service connected to the Village system to any source of water other than that <br /> supplied by the City or the Village. <br />
