' F•DfC9 DECATUR, ILLINOIS
V 1C
 Lake Shore Driue Relocation Study
' u.ar-'
'<lINO`'
,
 Alternative A-No Change in Function
This alternative represents existing conditions: no change in land use or Lake Shore Drive
, function or alignment. The alternative provides a base for comparison of impacts with the
more aggressive alternatives. It addresses each of the infrastructure objectives in the
following fashion:
' • Remove the U.S. 51 and Lake Shore Drive interchange.
No.
• Reduce total traffic demand on Lake Shore Drive.
 No.
• Remove truck traffic from Lake Shore Drive.
No.
' • Relocate Lake Shore Drive away from the shore line adjacent to Mueller Park.
No.
• Provide a pedestrian and bicycle link between Lincoln Park,Mueller Park and Chandler
, Park.
No.
Alternative B-Redesignation of Illinois Route 105 to Eldorado
This alternative does not involve physical relocation of Lake Shore Drive, but only a re-
designation of Illinois Route 105 to Eldorado. Because no alignment changes are suggested
with this alternative, additional land use redevelopment potential also remains at zero. It
, addresses each of the infrastructure objectives in the following fashion:
• Remove the U.S. 51 and Lake Shore Drive interchange.
 No.
• Reduce total traffic demand on Lake Shore Drive.
No.
• Remove truck traffic from Lake Shore Drive.
 Yes.
• Relocate Lake Shore Drive away from the shore line adjacent to Mueller Park.
No.
 • Provide a pedestrian and bicycle link between Lincoln Park,Mueller Park and Chandler
Park.
No.
'
'
,
' Bucher,Willis£Ratliff-11 I'I
1'\YSOV!\WI'C\REPORTS\ItEI'ORTWP6
