� Exhibit I r � CITY OF DECATUR DECATUR, ILLINOIS 62523 REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS The City of Decatur is currently seeking Statements of Qualifications from Certified Public Accounting Firms to provide annual audit services. The City of Decatur has received the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the past nineteen consecutive years and is very interested in retaining this certificate. As directed by the City '� Council, the Audit Committee will solicit proposals only from firms which meet the following I criteria: I • have extensive experience with the governmental auditing and reporting standards, as currently promulgated by GASB and the Industry Audit Guide; • provide governmental audit services for entities of similar size and complexity as the City of Decatur; � have professional staff who spend a significant amo�unt of their time providing services to governmental agencies; � provide governmental audit training and guidance to staff inembers to keep them up-to-date on governmental accounting issues and changes in financial reporting requirements. The City of Decatur will enter into a one year contract with the firm selected, with the anticipation of renewing that contract annually for a total period of four years. The initial audit period is for the fiscal year starting May 1, 1994 and ending Apri130, 199�. If you are interested in receiving a Request for Proposal, please submit a Statement of Qualifications to the City of Decatur Audit Committee detailing how your firm meets the above criteria not later than 5 p.m. on Monday October 10, 1994. The Requests for Proposals will be mailed on October 27, 1994 to those firms which meet the above criteria.
