. <br /> r <br /> . , Exhibit A <br /> PRIDE PROGRAM FOR EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION <br /> I. PURPOSE. The Pride Program has been established to foster positive <br /> employee morale through a system of awards. The PRIDE Program will serve as an <br /> avenue to achieve four realistic but challenging goals: <br /> - Provide for increased efficiency of governmental operation in the City; <br /> - Recognize employee contributions to the quality of service delivery; <br /> - Recognize employees as a tremendous workforce; and, <br /> - Stress unity of the City workforce. <br /> II. The PRIDE Program will be divided into two categories; <br /> 1) Performance Recognition (Achievement Award); and, <br /> 2) Certificate of Appreciation (Star Award); <br /> A. Performance Recognition. (Achievement Award) ' <br /> This portion of the program is created to recognize outstanding, <br /> sustained performance in the areas of Innovation, Customer Service and <br /> Achievement. <br /> - Innovation - Employees whose efforts result in the introduction <br /> of new methods, practices, devices, etc. that result in the more <br /> effective andlor efficient means of operation. <br /> - Customer Service - Employees who demonstrate a significant <br /> commitment in the area of customer service/positive public <br /> relations. <br /> - Achievement - Employees whose performance demonstrably <br /> exceeds requirements of the job description. <br />
