On <br /> September 5 , 1994 the exterior was inspected and on September 7 , <br /> 199•4 the interior was inspected to determine the struc:tural <br /> intearity of the partially demolished one and two story building . <br /> The following is a summary of BWC ' s and the structural inspector <br /> Mr. Richard G. Barnett ' s engineering evaluation of the subject <br /> buildin� wnd current state of demolition: <br /> R@Gi18St of BWC' s En�ineerin� Services <br /> The City of Decatur acting on its own admonition and due to the <br /> expressed concern of adjacent and adjoining building occupants <br /> requested BWC to provide cursory engineering inspection serv�ces to <br /> determine the stability of the partially demolished building at <br /> 1139 thru 1151 North Water Street . The City and the adjacent <br /> occupants are concerned that the partially demolished structure <br /> will become unstable under high winds presenting a hazardous <br /> situation to i,he surrounding environment . <br /> BWC' s Inspection of October 5 , 1994 <br /> Richard G. Barnett and Dave Griffiths inspected the exterior only <br /> on this date due to the inability to gain entrance to the interior <br /> of the building . During this inspection it was noted that the roof <br /> �f the two story portion of the structure and sporadic areas of �he <br /> brick walls had been partially demolisheti .
